Storey Lake is a gated, master-planned resort community in Kissimmee, sitting roughly four to six miles from Walt Disney World, about ten to fifteen minutes by car, with Universal and SeaWorld a short drive further on. For a family planning a parks trip, that location is the whole pitch: close enough to nap back at the villa between rides, far enough from the gates to feel like a proper holiday.
What sets Storey Lake apart from most of the Orlando rental stock is that it was purpose-built for short-term rental, not converted to it after the fact. Nightly renting is expressly allowed here, which is rare and valuable. It means an owner is not fighting a homeowners board or a grey-area zoning question every season. As always, licensing is a separate matter, and owners should confirm the current requirements with the state of Florida and Osceola County for their exact address, but the community itself is designed for this use from the ground up.

Then there is the resort itself. Storey Lake runs two clubhouses. The Hideaway Club anchors the community with a heated resort pool, a lazy river, dual water slides, a splash pad, a tiki bar, an ice cream shop, mini-golf, a basketball court and a fitness centre. The newer Bronson Club adds a bar and grill, a tropical pool, an arcade and a gym. The homeowners association covers cable, internet, landscaping, trash and access to those clubhouses, with a separate community development district line on the tax bill.
All of that resort quality sets an expectation, and that is the part owners underrate. A guest walks out of a lazy river and dual water slides and back into your living room.
