Two Paris bathrooms, reworked for space and style
An awkward layout with a separate enclosed toilet became two functional, characterful bathrooms: a New York look for the kids, and a calm spa mood for the primary.
The newly purchased family home came with two bathrooms in awkward, non-functional layouts, including an enclosed toilet with its own door (still common in France) and two clumsy entry points that wasted the available space.
The brief was simple to say and harder to solve: optimize the space in both bathrooms so they actually work for a busy family.
We reworked the layouts first, then gave each room its own clear style. The kids’ bathroom takes a New York cue, brass fixtures, white subway tile, and a black-and-white mosaic floor. The primary leans into a zen, spa-like mood with a floating wood vanity, a walk-in shower, and natural light from above.
The outcome was a real success: better daily function, and two spaces with genuine character instead of one compromised layout.
