Interior Design in Westchester

An interior designer for Westchester homes

Westchester interior design is our in-person residential work across the county: center-hall colonials, Tudors, estates, condos and new builds, designed to feel warm, timeless and genuinely yours. We work in person from Scarsdale and Rye to Bedford and the Rivertowns, and virtually if you prefer. One room or a whole home.

What we design

The Westchester homes we work on

Westchester homes have real character and real quirks. We design around them, not against them.

Center-hall colonials

The Westchester staple. We keep the classic bones and the symmetry while opening up how the rooms flow and bringing the finishes into this decade.

Tudors and period homes

Storybook Tudors, stone-and-stucco and older Victorians, updated for how families live now without stripping out the leaded glass, beams and millwork that give them their soul.

Estates and larger homes

Bigger Northern Westchester properties where the real challenge is cohesion: making ten rooms feel like one considered home rather than ten separate projects.

Condos and co-ops

White Plains and downtown buildings, pre-war co-ops and newer condos alike, designed within the board rules and the footprint you have, finished and cohesive.

New construction

Recently built colonials and modern farmhouses that have the space but none of the character yet, given warmth, texture and a clear point of view.

Weekend and country homes

Bedford, Katonah and Pound Ridge houses designed to feel like a true exhale from the city: relaxed, warm and effortless.

Where we work

Every Westchester town, in person

We come to you across the county, from the Sound Shore to the northern hills:

Sound Shore: Rye, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Rye Brook and Harrison.
Central Westchester: Scarsdale, Bronxville, White Plains, Eastchester and Hartsdale.
Northern Westchester: Chappaqua, Armonk, Bedford, Katonah, Mount Kisco and Pound Ridge.
The Rivertowns: Tarrytown, Irvington, Dobbs Ferry and Hastings-on-Hudson.

Outside the county? We also design across New York City, in Connecticut, and virtually nationwide.

How we work

Design that fits how Westchester lives

These are family homes for the long term, so we work the way that suits the house and you pick the level of help.

Why us

Design led by someone who thinks in numbers

Michael Intérieurs is led by Michael Charles, who spent two decades in data science before training at the New York Institute of Art and Design. Every choice is made for how a Westchester home actually performs and feels once you live in it, not just how it photographs. Rated 5.0 on Google.

★★★★★

Michael has an incredible eye for design, detail and functionality. His vision made the entire project come together beautifully. Would absolutely recommend. 10/10.

Very professional and dedicated. He took time to visit my home to give me an estimate and draft examples of what we could do. Very impressed.

Questions

Westchester interior design, answered

Do you serve Westchester without an office there?

Yes. We work in person across Westchester County, coming to your home for consultations, measurements and installation, and we design virtually if you prefer. You get a hands-on, local level of service without us needing a storefront on your Main Street.

Which Westchester towns do you cover?

All of them, in person: the Sound Shore towns like Rye, Larchmont and Mamaroneck, the central county including Scarsdale, Bronxville, Harrison and White Plains, Northern Westchester such as Chappaqua, Armonk, Bedford and Katonah, and the Rivertowns from Tarrytown to Hastings.

How much does an interior designer cost in Westchester?

It depends on scope and how hands-on you want us. A per-room Quick Fix starts at $500, a full virtual plan you install yourself at $1,000, and full-service, where we design, source and install, at $1,200. The pricing page has the full breakdown, and the cost guide covers what drives it.

Do you offer virtual design for Westchester homes?

Yes. If you would rather skip in-person visits, we design your Westchester home online: you share photos and measurements, and we send a complete plan and a shoppable list you install at your own pace, for a fraction of full-service pricing.

The local brief

Designing for Westchester, specifically

Westchester design is not city design and it is not generic suburban design. The homes and the way families live here shape every choice.

The period-home balance

Most Westchester homes come with character and constraints: closed-off formal rooms, dated kitchens and baths, and millwork worth protecting. We keep the character and solve the layout rather than gutting what makes them special.

Family-first living

These are homes for everyday family life, so design has to be durable and practical as well as beautiful: hard-wearing materials, rooms that work after school and at dinner, and storage that keeps up.

Scale and cohesion

Suburban rooms are larger than city ones, and the risk is a home that feels empty or disconnected. We design for scale and flow so a big house feels warm and whole, not like a showroom.

The look most Westchester clients want is warm and timeless with a current edge: traditional bones brought forward, natural materials and real comfort over trend. That is the balance we design to.
